Teaching Children Using Math Board Games

Board games can be used for a number of educational purposes, as they have proven to help stimulate the minds of children in a fun, informative way. Learning things like multiplication tables, long division, or even more basic tasks like simple addition and subtraction can be difficult for young children, usually depending on their age and the amount of attention they have received on the object. It has also been long proven that most children have a better time learning skills when they are presented in a fun, interactive format, giving educational math board games a great platform on which to make their stand.

Math Smart is one such board game which helps children to easily begin to master the skills of basic math. The game plays out across a table, much like dominoes. There are 100 durable cards in each set of the game, which come in editions for each basic math skill. Some set focus on addition, while others help players learn their subtraction, multiplication, and division skills. The easy format helps any player to adapt quickly to the game and with a fun, slightly competitive environment, the learning aspect of the game may even go entirely unnoticed!

Another popular game, Goose Egg, can help children learn how to complete their math skills more quickly. Coming with three 10-sided dice, answer boards, a timer, and chips, players will need to roll the dice, figure out the multiplications between the numbers, and quickly cover up the correct answer on their answer sheets, all within a 30 second time frame! This teaches children to think quickly, trying to encourage them to learn how to complete the skills within a short time frame. However, players must be careful about the dice they roll, for if they end up with 3 zeros in any turn, they have received a goose egg and may be out of the game. This game is incredibly popular, as it encourages quick thinking in an easy to learn, fun environment, and many children have greatly benefited from playing with it.

Totally Tut is a great example of a game that gives children the chance to learn a number of basic math skills and the order of operations potentially without them even realizing it. Racing across a board made of different pyramids, the players try to correctly solve math puzzles that have been presented to them. When the problem is correctly solved, that player gains a piece which will help them to build their own pyramid. However, the game is not as simple as just building pyramids by solving problems, for other players have the chance to either steal or swap pyramid tiles, helping to complete their own and ruin another!

This game raises the level of competition, making the game a high-paced, harrowing experience for any players participating. With such an exciting environment provided by the game, it is no wonder that all of these educational board games help players to learn their techniques so quickly. Teaching math to young children has never been easier or more fun!

Viral Marketing With Online Games

Viral marketing is the latest trend in online marketing tools, also known as "pass-along," "friend-tell-a-friend" and "evangelism" marketing. Consumers tell one another about a product, service or Web site. The so called word-of-mouth marketing phenomenon saves companies of huge costs on advertising.

The promotional effort in viral marketing is designed to encourage visitors to an online site and makes them pass along a marketing message for a product, with an attractive incentive. The incentives vary from a free product to a discount coupon. One of the most effective ways to spread enthusiasm about a product is, though, games. Games are not only fun, they are powerful viral products used for traffic generation, training and education.

Viral marketing games are fast gaining popularity. Such online game contests allow the user to play a game online with a free product as the prize. At the end of the game, the user is re-directed to your product site. This ensures a constant stream of visitors to your site and also encourages repeat visits the two goals of viral marketing.

There are award winning viral games. Original and addictive games have been played by millions and have massively increased brand awareness and customer acquisition for brand owners. A good example are the very popular Simpson games that are made for the new Simpsons movie and Extreme Pamplona, a game made for Rexona, which has been played millions of times. MTV is going to spend millions of dollars on online games for promotion. The range of these campaigns proves that viral is not limited to entertainment brands or games for teenagers and adults. Big brands from Levi Strauss and Fox Television to traditional warhorses, such as The New York Times, Sports Illustrated or Lucky are popping up everywhere in the blogosphere and on message boards.
Viral advertising bounces like crazy on the Internet. Yes, its 2007 in the viral marketing world and Internet users arent so easily impressed with just any game, contest or video clip. As technology evolved, the online games also went forward for the better. Since the earliest invention of games in computers there has been advancements in leaps and bounds in terms of the technology and programming software's used to develop games.

New games appear on the viral market every day. These online games cover all categories and needs of the consumers. Any demographic can be targeted - moms, dads, teachers, primetime TV loyals, city dwellers, rural folk etc. Just name the game and you can find action games, action games, arcade games, board & card games, classic games, fighting games, puzzle & word games, car & racing games, shooting games, skill games, sports games and strategy games.

Most of us, who use computers for different purposes at present, would admit that playing games was the first reason of attraction towards computers. Almost everyone would admit that his or her first interaction with computers was through playing a game on it. Even now among millions of individuals, who sit in front of a computer, a vast majority would acknowledge that they are still addicted to gaming experiences on computers for long hours at a stretch.

Recent high-speed Internet connections make downloading a faster process and one can easily enjoy a full range of levels and degree of difficulty for the game. No experience can be more entertaining than of playing a flash computer game.

Technology Can Ease Your Life!

I wake up on a Monday morning, with a to-do list buzzing in my head. I'm hoping to get some really solid work done through the week - like finalizing the strategic plan for the next year, initiating meetings with financiers, and oh yes, finally preparing a vision document... that's been in the making for the last few years, because I never got around to it.

I trudge back late Friday evening, weary with the activities of the past week. Funnily enough, I can't recall what I've achieved (am not sure if a longer to-do list counts!), but am tired as hell.

Sure, that's a familiar story - but we're about to give it a happy ending. With so much technology at hand, the life of the business owner just got simpler. Read our suggestions on how to ease your life.

Get the right hardware. You might not believe us at first, but juggling between different, stand alone computers can really eat into precious action time. Think of the sheer effort involved in making back up copies of documents on individual CDs, cataloguing them and putting them someplace safe. A server will ease your life by allowing quick access to files stored on different machines. If you haven't got one yet, it's time to enter the twenty first century!

Follow that up with software. How many checks do you sign in a day? If you don't have adequate accounting staff, are you reviewing the bills, making the vouchers, updating the accounts yourself? No wonder you have no time for anything.

Accounting software packages not only automate the bill payment process, but can also generate invoices, track late payments, put out alerts, generate reports and so on.

Similarly, payroll management software can be a real help when you have a large number of people working for you. A comprehensive package can ease your life by managing scheduling, keeping track of hours worked by individual employees, maintaining the attendance register and more.

You can also issue a mandate to your bank to pay out routine bills for utilities, salaries and so on by debiting your account. Think of all the time, energy and paper saved!

Put your website to good use. Don't have one yet? Well, get one as soon as you can. A website can save both time and money and ease your life in the process. If you're attending to a number of routine customer queries, direct them to the FAQ section on your site. If you're wasting time screening a pile of resumes, ask candidates to apply online instead. By building in filters on your website, you can make sure that only the relevant ones come up for perusal.

Also consider completing as many activities online as possible - this includes managing your bank accounts, filing taxes, placing orders and so on.

Pick up the phone! Yes, you heard us right. Pick up the phone, but for the right reasons. If routine review meetings hold up other activities, because you're not physically present to attend to them, switch to a tele or video conference. It's a fact that physical meetings waste a lot of time - so if you have to meet with a known group of people to discuss regular issues, do it long distance instead.

While all of the above technologies will ease your life, we'll leave you with a little warning. It's equally easy to fall prey to them. Make sure the "new message" alert in your inbox doesn't distract you during a meeting... or checking your voice mail doesn't become an obsession. A lot of the really important things you need to do at work require your time and attention and not technology to get done. Set aside some part of each day when you unhook all your gadgets and plug in your mind. Friday evenings will be a lot happier, we assure you!

Call of Duty 4 Tricks

First lets start with picking out a good kit. This is what I use, its the most effective perk set for an aggressive MP5 Player.

Perk 1: Bandolier or Frag x 3
Perk 2: Stopping Power or Juggernaut
Perk 3: Steady Aim or Deep Impact

MP5/M4 with Red Dot Sight work well. Make sure you have these console commands if you don't already.

"/com_maxfps 125" - Some things in the game don't work correctly if your not at 125 fps.

"/cg_fov 80" - Increases how much you can see at one time, default is 65 you should notice a big improvement.

"/maxpackets 100" - Goes hand in hand with maxfps command.

"/snaps 30" - Increases how much you communicate with the server per second makes your game smoother and hits register better.

Try to get into the habit of dropping your pistol for a real gun. It will save you many times over.

Don't forget to mix up your play over the course of a round. Never play the same spot every round, your prone to get grenaded or wall spammed. People are smart so you have to mix things up. If you're playing aggressive always take new routes and when they get used to you rushing don't walk into their traps, go defensive.

PC players should use the demo feature. Recording demos is a great way to become a better player. See what works and keep doing it, and see whats killing you and fix it. Demos are a great tool for competitive players.

Try to use your grenades early in the round, you don't want to die with a nade you could have scored an easy kill with. Grenades might be annoying but there's no sense in wasting free kills!

Hope these helped some. Most of these cod4 tips came from cod4 site. Come check us out for more great Call of Duty 4 Multiplayer tips.
